TAGLISH

i have been thinking lately about writing my blog "taglish" a combination of mother tounge which is tagalog and english. i suggested that idea to "things in life" and she agreed that i should do so, so that the non speaking tagalog bloggers could experience reading tagalog and at the same time learn words that they don't know what it meant. so from now on, i'm going to start writing my blog in "taglish".

isang taon na ngayon ang nakakaraan when i was back home attending my 40th class hs reunion. around this time, i was lying in a two seater sofa with an electric fan on my feet and having the most dreadful experience in my life, "food poisoning". before i left last year for that reunion, i was really trying hard to drop my weigh for another 10 lbs. after that episode, 10 lbs was just nothing and i really drop more that i could i asked for.

kung hindi sa mga nangyari nuon marahil mas maayos at maganda ang kaunting araw na aking tinigil sa pilipinas nuong isang taon. masarap sanang bumalik ngunit ang mahabang paglalakbay ang hindi ko na masyadong makayanan. ang pagkainip at ang maling puwesto na pagtulog ang tanging nakapagpipigil na para ako bumalik. eventually, maaring makabalik but i think it will take time and of course, money.

friends of the commander-in-chief want to order five (5) hams each. i'm declining the order not because the compensation is not worth it but i don't want it commercialized. there are hams which are availabe by advance order in filipino outlets. it cost $50. hindi sa pagyayabang, i think i could say mine is better and it cost less. i could dictate how much i want but i don't want to do that. lets just leave it as it is "personalized and a labour of love".

with the present economy, we really don't know what is instore for next year. i hope canadian economy will only be affected slightly by the sudden change of situation in the states. maraming "cuts" ang mangyayari and the people who works in the non-unionized environment are sitting on the edge of their seats. mas maganda kung may "package" instead of being escorted out of the building.

on the sad note, my brother-in-law- pat, passed away the day before the american thanksgiving. last year around christmas time, he fell ill and was given "the last rites". he survived and went "on remission". he was able to go places with his family and attended the wedding of tim and lou last sept. he was also able to prepare himself mentally, emotionally and most important of all, SPIRITUALLY.

a very generous guy especially to my commander in chief. a very likeable person. surely, he will be missed. nawa'y ang Panginoon at Ama basbasan siya ng walang hanggang katahimikan.
